About the Studio

Many have asked why I named the business Studio Q 360. To those with a sense of humor I state it is a Star Trek reference. To those who read, a Douglas Adams quote. To those with business in mind, I explain its philosophical nature.

StudioQ360_RoomStudio represents the artistry of massage. Finesse, creativity, and client objectives mix to create a unique massage every time- like an original work of art.

Q represents everything infinite and finite. When the Pain Cycle is intersected with the rehabilitation needed, injuries can be healed and the cycle can stop.

360 represents a rounded perspective. Stress and pain rarely isolate a single body system to wreck havoc. Massage grants relief and the opportunity to self heal. It also represents multiple perspectives and the value of respecting each person’s point of view.

About the Therapist

Katrina_StudioQ360Dedicated Massage Therapist and Owner Katrina Brocka, LMT attended Carlson College of Massage Therapy in Anamosa Iowa, the only COMTA accredited massage school in the state. This level of education sets Studio Q 360 apart.

“When I was 30 I decided I wanted to pursue a career that I loved and made a difference in the world. I spent the next 18 months on a spiritual journey researching options and soul searching. Massage Therapy was always at the top of that list.

When I decided to go back to school to follow my dream I wasn’t nervous- I knew I had a great network of family and friends to encourage me along the way. I excelled in my classes and developed strong clinical reasoning skills so that I can quickly and accurately assess the body and help address needs effectively. I love massage therapy-its exactly what I hoped it would be.”

My toolbox is a mix of Western and Eastern philosophies. I believe that by striking a balance of combined theories, from ancient healing practices to modern science, we can unlock that which causes ‘dis-ease’ in our lives.

I use Swedish and Deep Tissue techniques along side Lymphatic Drainage, Cranio-Sacral, Trigger Point therapy, Myofacial Release, and Reflexology.

I also offer pregnancy massage and palliative care.

In my spare time I enjoy painting- several are displayed at Studio Q 360. I can play a mean ukulele and I dabble at playing the bass guitar. I am often found reading books and researching a variety of topics to better understand our world.
